The air spring bag sits under the receiver tube allowing a short distance of 10-inches between mounting pin and ball center. You will find the advantage of the Air Shocker is your ability to adjust air pressure for best ride and load control. Great for pickup trucks.
Recently purchased the 20k max black receiver hitch. Towing a 30’ travel trailer with 1700lb tonque weight with 3rd gen Ram 3500 DRW . First trip of 2500km in Dec 2025 showed an improvement of road shock transmitted to truck of 80-90% . ( I am mostly referring to roads with cracks, irregularities that would give a constant annoying small chuck to truck cab. Also bridge /overpass mismatch heights are greatly improved and much less stressful to trailer and truck.
One thing of note: If using a friction style sway control and bar is too tight , it will greatly reduce ability of hitch ball to pivot as designed.
I know this because first half of trip was completed without swaybar installed due to slippery (ice) road conditions. After installing swaybar noticed a reduction in ride quality. Backed swaybar friction clamp to 1/2 turn from free movement and this returned improved ride quality from first half of trip.
I am very pleased with change in ride quality and fully recommend this setup for a stiffer suspension found in 3/4-1 ton trucks.

Went with this hitch because we didn’t want to mess with W/D anymore. Also wanted the airbag to soften the rough ride transmitted from the dually to the front of the trailer. Highly recommend.
Excellent hitch and what is better is the customer service. I ordered wrong size receiver and they replaced with no questions. Customer service like this is very rare.

We installed the Shocker hitch, drove from WI to Nebraska with an empty trailer. It was a smooth ride! It would have been a rough ride without it. We brought a tractor back and that was great too.
Instantly noticed the difference. Made towing more comfortable on some of the rough roads we traveled. Would recommend this to anyone.

The Shocker provides a cushion for the traditional rigid connection between truck and trailer. Smooths the bumps and vertical oscillation, especially when making transitions across overpasses. Seems well built and the ability to adjust the height to level a trailer is nice. It is HEAVY; don’t think you’re going to one-hand it in and out of your truck bed or tool box.

First of the year bought one for our gooseneck and last month ended up getting a bumper hitch to use on our 20′ 14k dual axle trailer. Before it about shook you out of the seat empty and even when loaded. Used it this past weekend for the first time with @ 27# air in it and wow, didn’t even know I was pulling a trailer. Had a 8′ snow-blower on it. Wife was impressed on on it even road, being she had experienced the old way a time or two before getting the shock hitch!
I’ve had the original i bought in 2015 and this one is even better couldn’t be happier
