The Shocker Max Black 12K Air Ride Sway Control Towing Kit combines a 12,000 lb GTW / 1,200 lb TW air ride bumper hitch with one or two friction sway control arms to address both ride comfort and trailer sway in a single system. It’s built for truck owners towing travel trailers, toy haulers, race trailers, and heavy-duty trailers where sway and road shock are a real concern.
The air hitch uses a rocker arm pivot design that produces a down-and-back motion to absorb bumps, jerks, bangs, and tugs — no slides, rollers, parallel linkages, or multiple air bags. Dual rubber bump cushions add additional dampening. Adjust the air pressure to suit your load. The friction sway arms mount between the sway control tabs on the combo ball mount and the front of the trailer, stiffening the connection and keeping the trailer tracking in line with the tow vehicle. Use one arm for trailers up to 10,000 lb or 24′; use two for trailers over 10,000 lb or longer than 24′.
The one-piece welded silver combo ball mount includes both a 2″ (10,000 lb) and 2-5/16″ (20,000 lb) ball, two sway control tabs, and 8 adjustment holes for ½″ to 4½″ of drop. The receiver shank features two pin holes for length adjustment and hitch-mounted mud flap compatibility. Each friction sway arm kit includes the sway arm assembly, one 1¼″ trailer-mounted mini ball, one 1¼″ hitch-mounted ball with lock washer and nut, four metal lag screws, and two retaining clips. Available in 2″, 2½″, and 3″ receiver sizes.
Compatible with full-size and midsize pickup trucks, vans, and select SUVs with a receiver hitch mounted under the bumper. Not compatible with weight-distribution hitch systems.
