      Yes some folks will drill holes into the weld on tongue adapter and bolt it to an aluminum a-frame.  We wouldn't recommend drilling holes in your ball coupler only.  You would want a ball coupler or pintle ring that has the channel holes to bolt to this vertical channel.

      The vertical mount channel can be mounted upside down in some applications. We also have a tack welded version that can be used to help fit it to your trailer and then be welded.

      Hello Chris, unfortunately the adapter is precut with the holes for a jack already  in it.

      A The weld on vertical channel adaptor has the hole and three bolt pattern that is standard issue for most any camper tongue center mount jack. The hole diameter is 2 3/8" diameter.

      A When using the Shockerhitch tongue mount hitch, this should be good for atleast 2000 lbs as the tongue mount shockerhitch is rated.

      When using the Shockerhitch tongue mount hitch, if using two bolts two mount the GTW is 1,400 lbs when using 4 bolts to mount the GTW is 2,000 lbs.

      A If you are using 2 bolts then 14,000 lbs if using 4 bolts then 20,000 lbs that also assumes this kit is properly weld onto the trailer. You will also want to use a coupler that is rated at that capacity as well.

      A If you are using 2 bolts then 14,000 lbs if using 4 bolts then 20,000 lbs that also assumes this kit is properly weld onto the trailer.
